Thanks to Sam Lemon for helping identify this former "mystery" photograph. The image appears, as an engraving, on early Media High School diplomas.

Class is not identified. The man with the mustache, possibly the school's principal, appears in several other photos.

This was the last time the MHS band marched down state street. Shortly after, the high school was closed, with the students transferred to the new Penncrest High School in Middletown Township. This photograph is probably a print made from a slide, probably taken by David Jefferis.

Abel, Elizabeth Miller McDowell, Mamie J. Lobb, Mary E. Lockwood, Maud L. Watters, Frances E. Pennell, Albert Emil Holl, H. Atkins John, Howard S. Curtis, and William S. Howard. The man in the center is probably the school's principal, Leon H. Watters (according to Chester Times special Media Semi-Centennial issue, May 19, 1900, page 13)
