The American Legion Smith-Howard Post No. 93 purchased this building in the 1940s, as membership swelled during and after World War I. This was formerly the Media Men's Club. Centennial Book 35.

The building later became the home of the Media Upper Providence Free Library. It was demolished in 2016, and a new library built on the site. Centennial Book 51.

Besides being the chief engineer for the county, Throne was also the head of the county Republican party in 1949. Note the photos of bridges and the surveyor's transit behind the two men. This office was probably in the court house complex.
